Youngs needs to upgrade their security system ASAP. THE GATE CODE IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE UNIT, Everyone has the same one. There is a partial gate around the property but someone with a truck could literally drive around the gate! There are 3 cameras on the property, all facing the front gate. None elsewhere. The individual units are not alarmed either. The reason I bring this up is my unit was robbed 2 days after it was loaded. The office staff are nice but my stuff is gone. They didn't offer insurance so, I'm out of luck. Over $4000 loss of sentimental things. I can't recommend Young's until they have responsible security on the property.Full Review

Of the 3 storage facilities I checked out locally, this had the best move-in deal with 50% off monthly $ for first 3 months, paved roadways and unobstructed access to unit! Previous national storage company I used always kept their equipment in front of my unit.Full Review

This place used to be a good deal even if it was rather funky. But now- with just a 30 day notice- they raised the rent for RV spaces by 84% in one fell swoop. So now, its not such a great deal...just competitive. Shop around.Full Review

Hidden Valley Lake, CA RV Storage Tips

Most Common Types of RV Storage

Covered storage - While it’s usually the more expensive option, covered RV storage is the safest, most secure way to store your camper or trailer. In most cases, covered storage is simply a parking spot with a roof, however some facilities offer an indoor option which is just an over-sized version of a traditional self-storage unit (with drive-up access of course).

Uncovered storage - This storage option is basically an open parking space on the facility’s property, however because of its simplicity it’s also the least expensive option for RV storage. Some facilities do have paved parking areas specifically for motorhomes, but either way your RV will be outdoors and exposed to the elements – we recommend purchasing a cover if you go with this option.

Tips on How to Store a RV/Trailer at a Storage Facility

  • Measure your RV before you rent your unit to make sure you choose the right size
  • Give the camper a good cleaning before placing it in storage
  • Apply a coat of wax
  • Change the motor oil
  • Flush out the waste tanks
  • Purchase fuel stabilizer
  • Inflate the tires
  • Unload everything from your motorhome
  • Make sure the slide-outs are retracted
  • Once in storage, disconnect the battery
  • Make sure light can get into the motorhome
  • If possible, leave the vents open
