I have rented units from San Diego to Los Osos and I tell you true THIS place SHOULD, in my most humble opinion, be 5 Star rated over any I've used! And my experience covers OVER 30 years using these types of units! So how old/young am I? 68 in July ... if you really MUST know!!! LoL This facility is First, secure. With more cameras than the White House I suspect. Next, entire property is cleaner than any other I've seen or used. Then, the rental price for the size and quality of the space you get is VERY reasonable! Finally, the staff is polite, professional and go out of their way to be helpful! And if all that isn't enough to at least check them out then, I suspect, you may be ... too hard to please!!! John Miller AKA 'MillsFull Review

It was fast and easy. I reserved a space on line, someone called to confirm. When I arrived, the paperwork was explained, they showed me the space and how to get in. I wish renting everything was this easy.Full Review
We had confirmed reservation by email and text message but when we showed up on the reserved date, the staff was unable to find our reservation. Luckily, after a lot of searching, the staff found an extra unused locker that we were given. It had a somewhat defective door which is why it hadn't already been rented, but we got it to work. It was very stressful to show up and not have our reserved locker. My daughter was just about to take a final exam at college and we are from out of state. Somehow our website reservation never made it to the local SLO office according to the staff.Full Review

Baywood-los Osos, CA Boat Storage Tips

Most Common Types of Boat Storage

Indoor storage - Indoor storage units are the safest, most secure option for any watercraft, however because of that they are also the most expensive. Prices do vary by size, and some small boats/jet skis can fit in a 10x10 or 10x15 unit, but your average size vessel will likely require a 10x20 unit.

Outdoor storage - Outdoor storage is essentially just an open area at the facility’s property where you can park your boat. It’s the least expensive option and some facilities do offer both covered and uncovered parking spots, however we advise against using outdoor storage if you live in an area that’s prone to violent weather.

Tips on How to Store a Boat at a Storage Facility

  • Measure your vessel before you rent your unit to make sure you choose the right size
  • Give it a good cleaning before placing your boat in storage
  • Drain all the water and make sure it’s is dry
  • Apply a coat of wax
  • Change the engine oil
  • Once in storage, loosen the drive belts
  • Purchase a cover to keep your watercraft better protected
