I had an email reservation to open a 5 x 10 unit two Saturday's ago, but arrived during the clerk's lunch hour. I also had the moving company van on the clock. This rude kid stated he was on his lunch hour and refused to check us in. I told him I was going somewhere else and he said he didn't care. This kid is going to lose this company a lot of business. He could have taken 15 minutes to check us in, then continued his lunch break. Luckily I found a better facility that cares about their customers. If he's going to treat me badly, imagine other customers. Get rid of this kid and find a better manager or else you will lose business.Full Review

I mean, it's a storage facility so there isn't too much to say here. But mostly, I was pleased with how helpful, charming, and funny the staff has been. They answered all my questions clearly and quickly, and added a lot of personality to the proceedings. Thanks a lot, guys!Full Review
My son is a marine and was set to go into quarantine then deployment, he was supposed to have sold his vehicle prior to leaving but an issue came up the night before and he could not sell his jeep. He had no safe place to keep the jeep and it was in mint condition, therefore, we were so afraid it would get stolen or damaged while he was away. I was frantic and tried to get a flight out to CA from TX to help with the situation. I sat and looked at my computer and then just said a prayer for the solution. I pulled up storage units and found a 1-800 number and then the girl on line placed me on a very long hold. She then patched me into Mr. Derek and the rest was history! In my son's words, Mr. Derek, you saved us! He helped my son find a cover for his jeep and was very patient and kind to him. I also did all the paperwork very seemlessly via email. I know he will watch over my son's jeep while he is serving our Country!Full Review

Public Storage sent me a notice my unit had been moved out of and closed out. WhenI called them they said they accidentally moved out the wrong unit in the computer. Horrible Experience with this location. They continually raise the rent, even in a pandemic. They are quick to place you in auction if you are the slightest bit late on a payment or threaten you by saying they locked your unit. They also sent me a message telling my my stuff had been moved out of my storage unit, than when I called said it was an error. A week later I received an increase in rent.Full Review

Oceanside, CA RV Storage Tips

Most Common Types of RV Storage

Covered storage - While it’s usually the more expensive option, covered RV storage is the safest, most secure way to store your camper or trailer. In most cases, covered storage is simply a parking spot with a roof, however some facilities offer an indoor option which is just an over-sized version of a traditional self-storage unit (with drive-up access of course).

Uncovered storage - This storage option is basically an open parking space on the facility’s property, however because of its simplicity it’s also the least expensive option for RV storage. Some facilities do have paved parking areas specifically for motorhomes, but either way your RV will be outdoors and exposed to the elements – we recommend purchasing a cover if you go with this option.

Tips on How to Store a RV/Trailer at a Storage Facility

  • Measure your RV before you rent your unit to make sure you choose the right size
  • Give the camper a good cleaning before placing it in storage
  • Apply a coat of wax
  • Change the motor oil
  • Flush out the waste tanks
  • Purchase fuel stabilizer
  • Inflate the tires
  • Unload everything from your motorhome
  • Make sure the slide-outs are retracted
  • Once in storage, disconnect the battery
  • Make sure light can get into the motorhome
  • If possible, leave the vents open
