Love the ease and cleanliness of any Extra Space properties. I’ve had storage in a newly constructed property and one that’s been around a few years and their upkeep is immaculate. I greatly appreciate the high customer service level of the staff, particularly Andy? & manager Jorge at this location. They corrected an issue quickly and hassle free. Although their frequent corporate rate Increases are significant, you get what you pay for and I’d rather pay more for a clean, secure facility and amenities. Carts and restrooms are well maintained and I love the unit locks - they are very easy to use.

Our experience was amazing at the 12151 W Hillsborough Ave location. Jesus the manager was extremely accommodating and helpful. He ensured all our packages were delivered to our storage unit and that fragile items were handled with care. Excellent communication and friendliness!!

I am leaving this review to help others who may be looking to rent from this location. My advice is to shop elsewhere until some of the issues below are resolved. We've rented here for over two years, but today we vacated our unit. Cons - High rent compared to similar locations – rate more than doubled for us over time - No refund/prorate of rent paid – We lost a lot of rent when we moved out today - 24-hour access was not available when we originally moved in - 24-hour access costs more - No access prior to Hurricanes, unable to access before the storms in 2024 - People loitering in the lobby waiting for ride shares – recently I’ve seen the same people at different times of day. I’m not sure what this is about, but it seems off. - No easy way to enter the building, you must use a code every time - No fence around the building/property Pros - Location is good - Clean and cool even on hot days - Secure units My interaction with staff has been mostly good, but the person today acted a bit rude when I walked into the office today. They were on a personal call and reluctantly got off to speak with me. I was just letting them know that I had vacated the unit. Upon inquiring about a refund, I was informed that a survey would be sent to us and that a refund would not be provided. The no prorate policy is probably buried in a mountain of small print, but honestly it would be nice for them to let you know this when you request a move out date online. I probably would have waited two weeks to move. Instead, they ask you why you want to leave and what you plan to do with your stuff etc. I really wish that I felt like a customer instead of a number sometimes.

I've always been pleased with everyone's help every time I need help. The only thing is they have raised the price like 3 times in the last 3 years, and it's not just $5 raise it's a lot more than that but besides this everything else it's good.
