The space increased the rent from $130 to $232. The last increase happened at a time when I made a payment with a different card and forgot to turn back on auto pay. They sent me message informing me of my missed payment, I offered to pay $160 because at that time that is the amount I thought my storage rent was. Go store it does not take partial payments so now because of misinformation, and the latest increase, I can not catch up I owe $1000.20 all my childrens belongings our personal information documents all to be sold. People place things in storage usually because of some type of life set back, these facilities make things worse by their hiked rates, and uncompromising stipulations leaving the patron worse off, while the company takes no real loss. If you took partial payments and either allowed for people to collect things out their unit supervised, even if they never came back. Go store would have money from the patron and the remaining items in the unit to sale off, win win... However the patron is never the one held in any regard. Not to mention the place was supposed to be temperature control, but the ac was never working when I went there to retrieve things, units had been broken into at one point, and my unit seemed to have signs of rodents, but with all that my situation did lend over and opportunity for me to leave this storage facility, and now look , they desire to take literally everything from me.
The staff has been courteous and answers within a reasonable time. When I call. I only had one minor issue when trying to make a payment. The forms used for electronic signature were a little confusing and I had trouble understanding the person with whom I was speaking due to a heavy accent. I had to hang up and call back and the issue was resolved immediately. My only complaint about the facility is that there is no light inside the unit itself.
Location is great. Ability to reserve and enter is easy but that is it. Online deal was too good to be true (3rd floor) is a hot box. Manger Ricky lead me to believe it was just the day I checked however after speaking with another customers on the 3rd floor it is always extremely hot. I was offered a 2nd floor unit for $50 more a month (no thanks). If I only knew after moving half of way into the unit I would be moving my items (2nd floor) again because of the heat I would have taken it hours before. There is no one physically at this location. Everything is online or over the phone. It was brutally hot. I / we had to take breaks on the 2nd floor where it was cool. I was given a red lock (company lock) to put on my unit which would allow any employee to enter my unit. Per one of the customer service agents over the phone these are not for customers, customers are suppose to get new locks. Manager Ricky wasn’t honest about how I got the lock and combo code. No one came to give me another lock. I was told to leave my belongings unsecured and buy a lock the customer service agent did offer to reimburse me $15 for the lock. I wasn’t comfortable leaving my property unsecured. I called the police to get report unfortunately this is a civil matter if my items would have been taken under these circumstances. This was an awful experience after driving from Texas. Honestly… is the best policy for me when spending my hard earned money. I moved out week later. 7 hours later, 12 phone calls later I finally got a rep that gave me another unit and a red lock code to secure my belongs. This location has individuals living in it. I could hear her dog barking, while another person walked back and forth from the gas station (no bathrooms at this location). I was asked to do a review when I got checked in but that wasn’t at the top of my to-do-list. At my age no one should be treated this way. Pre check v/s post check was horrible. Moving twice unthinkable but I got it done. If only people would treat you like they would like to treated is an understatement. I am very disappointed in the management/ owners of this location. If this happened to me it has happened before and it will happen again.
