I was super impressed with how easy the entire process to get the unit was. I applied on-line and got a quote - and form there on I had reps from the facility contacting me to narrow down a move in time. My schedule is hectic and all over the place - and they did a great job in following up and being flexible. The unit was clean upon arrival and they helped me get all the paper work done quickly and explain rules and limitations. I truly appreciate how easy it was to get this unit and from the sounds of it it will also be easy to move out. I don't know if I would ever move again without renting out a storage unit to 1. declutter and 2. be the inebetween grounds.Full Review

I was very happy with the professionalism of the staff. However-- When I reserved the space, I was told that the "total move-in costs" would be $25.00. Upon arrival and after viewing the rental space, I began processing the paperwork. I was told I would need to pay an additional $16.00 per month for required insurance. I was also told I could not use my own lock, but had to purchase one from Public Storage ($19.00). So, my new move in costs were approximately $60.00. This almost seems like a "bait and switch" type set-up.Full Review

Covered storage - While it’s usually the more expensive option, covered RV storage is the safest, most secure way to store your camper or trailer. In most cases, covered storage is simply a parking spot with a roof, however some facilities offer an indoor option which is just an over-sized version of a traditional self-storage unit (with drive-up access of course).

Uncovered storage - This storage option is basically an open parking space on the facility’s property, however because of its simplicity it’s also the least expensive option for RV storage. Some facilities do have paved parking areas specifically for motorhomes, but either way your RV will be outdoors and exposed to the elements – we recommend purchasing a cover if you go with this option.

Tips on How to Store a RV/Trailer at a Storage Facility

  • Measure your RV before you rent your unit to make sure you choose the right size
  • Give the camper a good cleaning before placing it in storage
  • Apply a coat of wax
  • Change the motor oil
  • Flush out the waste tanks
  • Purchase fuel stabilizer
  • Inflate the tires
  • Unload everything from your motorhome
  • Make sure the slide-outs are retracted
  • Once in storage, disconnect the battery
  • Make sure light can get into the motorhome
  • If possible, leave the vents open
