We moved our items to this storage unit as soon as they were open for business. From the start, there have been small issues. To begin with the original unit we were assigned did not have an operational door. After rectifying that issue we noticed that there were several leaks in the roof evident by the water in the passageways between the units. Fortunately, our unit did not appear to have any issues. Over the past 6 months or so, there have been at least three instances where one or more of the electronic building door access keypads were inoperable. The one time I needed to gain access and this occurred was when the facility was owned / and or operated by the previous company. Once I got in touch with customer service, they responded quickly and rectified the issue the same day. Fast forward to this day, 05 August 2025, the facility is under new ownership / management. I went to the facility to gain access to my unit and was able to get into the main gate. Unfortunately all four (4) of the keypads for Building D were inoperable. As I was exiting the property, another tenant drove into the facility and asked if I was the technician who was repairing the electronic key pads. I stated I was not and he proceeded to tell me he had not been able to access his unit in the previous two (2) days. Once I returned home, I called the main customer service number. At approximately 11am CST, after waiting for a representative to answer for approximately 6 minutes I opted to get a call back. At 3pm CST time I had not received any communication back from Big Guy Storage and opted to call again. I chose another menu option on the phone and was able to gain access to a representative in approximately 4 minutes during this call. I explained what issue was being experienced by not just myself, but at least one other tenant to the representative. I was told that another work order would have to be placed for my unit (even though it is in the same building as the other gentlemen's) and that the response time would take between 3-5 business days. I asked the representative what actions the company would be taking to refund the monthly rent for the days that the technicians attendance / repair to access keypads would be. I was told I would receive an email with in the next 10 business days in order to report the issue and request refunding of those monies. I then asked that a member of management call me back at the absolute earliest possible convenience. It is now 5:25pm CST and have not received a call back. To say that the customer service for this facility has fallen flat since being taken over by 10 Federal Storage is a complete understatement. For the premium prices they are charging for storage units at this facility, the customer service / management and facility components should be considerably more effective and efficient. There is absolutely no excuse for piss poor business management, especially in turn key businesses such as self storage. I would suggest corporate get their heads on straight and tighten up the COVID era excuses for not handling their obligations to their customers.
