One suggestion: Please consider having a couple of chairs available in the office area, for people who plan to meet each other there, and have to wait awhile. Same for someone waiting for their moving company to arrive and meet them there.Full Review

It's cheap, and you're getting cheap quality.
Monthly rent using calendar months, not days from move in, which is against the norms of contracts, and is deceptive and abusive to customers. So be sure to move in on the 1st, not the 29th. They also force you to buy a $20 lock whether you want it or not, in addition to the administrative move in fee.
The bathrooms were locked up well, but the gates to the storage units never closed. The walls between storage units are paper thin (and broken in my unit), so you'd better trust your neighboring units. There is lots of ventilation gaps on the top (so again, be sure you trust your neighboring units). Overall, very insecure, but you're probably storing used furniture, and nothing actually valuable.
But on the plus side, the concrete floor was nice enough, no signs of flooding, fire, smoke or water damage. And I did see someone repairing the roof that day, so at least they put in some maintenance effort.
There were a lot of busted up vehicles in the parking spaces. The paved roads between units were not well maintained and very bumpy. Overally, it had more of a "we cater to evicted drug addicts" atmosphere than a semblance of security, quality or cleanliness.
I also never had to meet anyone to move in, which is nice in that it was minimal paperwork. But a little scary, like, does anyone ever even monitor the place?Full Review

The 2.5 stars is for the ease of online booking.
The facilities: the day I moved in the double sliding doors were broken as was one of the two elevators. My code was not functioning and the staff person could not figure out why. You have to purchase a specialty lock that is only available at Self Storage.
Booking: there was a sale on many different units December 2020. However, the 5x10 did not have a sales price. So I opted for the larger 6x10 as it was listed as $66. A similar rate to the current one listed above. So I booked it but saw $88 on the e-contract. I called and was assured that it would be adjusted. Long story short, the folks who answered the phone are not onsite, and the phones were down at Ashburn. The lower rate hasn't been honored and I haven't pushed the issue because I dont have proof. Also, I somehow ended up purchasing two units--I'll take the fault. However, it took an entire month and much badgering to be refunded my deposit.
Billing: my first bill came and it was $20 more than it should have been. I was told multiple times that it would be adjusted. Only to receive a late fee while waiting.
Throughout my communications with the staff, Ive been promised communication with management. Never happened. When I finally got a message from the Assist Management by happenstance, she didnt apologize for the myriad of inconveniences nor did she acknowledge the issue. I'm wary about this contract considering most companies are at least kind and customer-centric at the outset. That has not been the case.Full Review

Convenient Short & Long Term Rentals
As guardian for a vulnerable adult who lives 1500 miles away I often have needed a trustworthy, secure, easily accessible mechanism to store items as I manage the adult's affairs. Public Storage's many convenient locations, flexible hours, reasonable prices, quality infrastructure including carts for moving materials and most especially friendly and helpful staff have made this component of a tough situation by far the easiest to manage.
