I mean, it's a storage facility so there isn't too much to say here. But mostly, I was pleased with how helpful, charming, and funny the staff has been. They answered all my questions clearly and quickly, and added a lot of personality to the proceedings. Thanks a lot, guys!Full Review
My son is a marine and was set to go into quarantine then deployment, he was supposed to have sold his vehicle prior to leaving but an issue came up the night before and he could not sell his jeep. He had no safe place to keep the jeep and it was in mint condition, therefore, we were so afraid it would get stolen or damaged while he was away. I was frantic and tried to get a flight out to CA from TX to help with the situation. I sat and looked at my computer and then just said a prayer for the solution. I pulled up storage units and found a 1-800 number and then the girl on line placed me on a very long hold. She then patched me into Mr. Derek and the rest was history! In my son's words, Mr. Derek, you saved us! He helped my son find a cover for his jeep and was very patient and kind to him. I also did all the paperwork very seemlessly via email. I know he will watch over my son's jeep while he is serving our Country!Full Review

i've always used public storage and have always been very satisfied. however, recently i been having a couple of issues regarding about my payments being late, getting different information. again regarding payment due date, and when i call, no one ever answers. and this is at any time of the day. i'm still very happy with your business. i just rented another space. i guess we're just going through some hic-cups. up untill now and this covers prior tears i,ve never had any issues. i think we'll get these straightened out. thank you soniaFull Review

I reserved a unit online and showed up the next day to check it out. Met with Brianna and she showed me the unit and other available units. She got the paperwork going and I was moving in within 20 mins. For me, this area is centrally located (instead of heading to North or East County) and well priced. Thank you.Full Review

Public Storage sent me a notice my unit had been moved out of and closed out. WhenI called them they said they accidentally moved out the wrong unit in the computer. Horrible Experience with this location. They continually raise the rent, even in a pandemic. They are quick to place you in auction if you are the slightest bit late on a payment or threaten you by saying they locked your unit. They also sent me a message telling my my stuff had been moved out of my storage unit, than when I called said it was an error. A week later I received an increase in rent.Full Review

San Diego, CA Boat Storage Tips

Most Common Types of Boat Storage

Indoor storage - Indoor storage units are the safest, most secure option for any watercraft, however because of that they are also the most expensive. Prices do vary by size, and some small boats/jet skis can fit in a 10x10 or 10x15 unit, but your average size vessel will likely require a 10x20 unit.

Outdoor storage - Outdoor storage is essentially just an open area at the facility’s property where you can park your boat. It’s the least expensive option and some facilities do offer both covered and uncovered parking spots, however we advise against using outdoor storage if you live in an area that’s prone to violent weather.

Tips on How to Store a Boat at a Storage Facility

  • Measure your vessel before you rent your unit to make sure you choose the right size
  • Give it a good cleaning before placing your boat in storage
  • Drain all the water and make sure it’s is dry
  • Apply a coat of wax
  • Change the engine oil
  • Once in storage, loosen the drive belts
  • Purchase a cover to keep your watercraft better protected
