I have been paying monthly for approximately 2 1/2 years for a small aid conditioned unit to store important documents and personal items at Midgard storage located at 10810 Internet Place, Bradenton, Fl. 34211.
On Nov. 3, 2021 I opened my unit to retrieve folding chairs. I noticed that there was water on the floor and that a number of the boxes had water stains.
I went to the front office and the "manager" came to the unit and viewed the water problem. He said that he would call the air conditioning company (assuming that was the problem) and I would receive a phone call immediately thereafter.
Nothing.
On Nov. 12 I went back to the unit and saw that the water damage had spread throughout the unit although it appeared dry. I went to the office to see what had transpired and the lady had no clue and stated that the manager was not there.
Great. I can only assume that numerous boxes are ruined and that contents are moldy as well as luggage stored in the unit.
There appears to be no one in charge of this place.Full Review

I didn't know until I had already contracted with your company that insurance was mandated. I may have missed it on the web site That it was mandatory. I did see if I contracted on line I had to pay for it So I went into the office and was told I still had to pay for it. The belongings I have in the unit don't have a value of $5,000.00 and yet I had to pay insurance to cover that amount. Also going through the gate is not convenient to have to get out of your car to punch in the codeFull Review

The units were very tall (10ft), very clean, and came at a great rate. The hallway to the units were very clean along with the site itself and the office space. I was very impressed! We were shown the unit first and given all of the details along the way. The paper work only took about 20 minutes and the staff was very helpful and friendly. RATS DESTROYED my things. If your belongings are damaged, you are on your own, as no insurance will cover more than a couple of hundred dollars in varmint damage. The district manager and an employee at the location even acknowledge that they are aware of a MAJOR RAT PROBLEM at this location.
For reference, I have had all of these things in this unit for approximately four (4) years and never had an issue before; I noticed this issue a month ago.

- Rats chewed plastic on my kayak, and trailer

Liked the fact that you could fill out a majority of paper work on line saving you time and more important money. Facility is nice and maintained well. Easy access to my storage unit and I liked the fact that has 8 ft ceiling unlike many i looked at that were only 5 ft. for smaller unit. This was important to me because it allows me to store items vertically *such as my Christmas tree box which is 6 ft tall and I could stand up in corner taking up much less space.Two thing that are a little negative but did not make me go else where (Not sure if all the storage facilities follow the same practices)but you have to provide your own insurance or purchases theirs and it was higher than anticipated for such a small unit and for my unit needed a special lock which I purchased from them. Access is not 24 hrs a day which is fine for me because I am not storing anything which I would need in the middle of night so not worth the extra money it would cost for the same size unit at a 24 hr facility.Full Review
