Have been renting here for years and unfortunately the facilities are not in good state at the moment. The vehicle gate has been broken for over 6 months. No one has come to fix it. Sliding doors are just open 24-7 instead of locking at night. I have run into vagrants at night a few times which is never pleasant since anyone can enter the building at any time. There used to be 12-15 carts for the building. There are now just 2 for the entire place… I use the facility every day and I’m now having a hard time just getting things in and out because there are never any carts to use. If ownership reads this, please fix these issues. The staff running the building is great but the building is lacking important investment to keep it up to date

I have had a large storage unit there since Hurricane Ian, paid my bill timely every month! I finally moved out the first week of September 2025 on the 6th exactly and was refused a pro ration of the balance of 3 weeks. I called a week ahead and nobody mentioned to get prorated it had to be by the 3rd. of the month. So they reveled in keeping my money. TOTAL BS. Beware here. Not to mention the lighting in my unit was dim and dark! Never again

Don't walk away from this business but do run. It is the worst storage facility I have used in over 50 years, throughout the U.S. & abroad. Leaving aside no electricity in our hallway or locker for over 6 months (despite repeated complaints), very limited AC, no security to speak of with gates stuck open 24 hrs a day for literally months & entry door keypads that have never worked so doors will open 24 hours, and no resident personnel except for less than normal business hours, it is totally unsafe. Even with all that, the rent for a one car garage size locker was over $700 a month. I moved to another storage place nearby for 1/3 the cost & beautiful upkeep and security. I will never darken the door (figuratively & literally) of SmartStop again.

I have been a customer here for a couple years and in that time I’ve noticed a steady decline in conditions and safety. Most of the time the gates do not work or are left open. There’s been times everyone was going in and out of the exit gate which could have easily resulted in an accident. Aside from the gates, the sliding doors going in the building do not work a lot of the time. I was there today and the door I went in had to be pulled opened and closed, when you’re carrying items it’s not very convenient to have to pull a sliding door. Also there is a lack of carts, again I was there today and no carts were available upon my arrival, so I had to carry some things up but decided to come back another time as most of it was too heavy for me to carry. Most important is lack of security, there has been theft occurring here and its happening more frequently. Lack of cameras, the gates and doors not working properly all factor into this. The sliding doors into the building do not require a code to enter. At this point I am more than likely going to cram what I have stored here back in my apartment for safety. However the staff here are great and are always helpful when you need them.
