I have had a rental unit at the SROA 5450 Apalachee Parkway unit for over a year now. The facility is always neat and clean and the staff has ever been anything but courteous, helpful and friendly. My monthly rental fee is paid via automatic draw on my credit card. The whole arrangement was easy, convenient, and trouble free. However, I recently experienced a fraudulent charge by an unknown vendor which resulted in the card being deactivated just prior to the due date on my SROA account. I completely forgot that there was an auto-charge set up for my account with SROA. Of course my payment was not made on time as the card rejected. I received a reminder notice of the payment due, and subsequently called the office. A delightful young lady named Allison answered. She quickly reviewed my account and forwarded a link so I could make the payment and reset the auto-payment arrangement. I quietly asked for a reversal of the 50% late charge fee. Not to my surprise, Allison indicated that it was not normally corporate policy to reverse late charges, which, given the nature of the business, I understood. But... Allison took the additional step of reviewing the historical performance of my account (perfect until the card fraud incident) and agreed to refund the late charge. Its really nice to see a company that allows a little discretion to its people vs. iron clad rules! I immediately went on line and set up the new payment method, made the late payment and all seemed fine. However, just to be sure, I called the office to confirm with them that my account was indeed OK going forward. Allison was not available, but I spoke with another employee named Bryana. She was equally pleasant, and aware that I had called earlier. Bryana confirmed that my account appeared to be all set. She also promised to advise Allison I had called. SROA is to be commended for the staff they have put in place at this location. They were professional, courteous, and caring, while still capable of making reasonable business decisions and simultaneously keeping the customer happy. Something not often seen in todays corporate environment! Thank you SROA, Allison and Bryana! BAN
