First all the reviews are from the previous place before they sold it to this company 2 months ago, The new owners SOA bought it from Extra Space Storage who I was renting a spot from, I was unable to get into my unit for 3 weeks while they transitioned over to them, they couldn’t take a payment from me for two weeks. They couldn’t give me a gate code because they had no system for either. The employees are rude as hell non-caring. After experiencing all this, I refuse to sign their new lease and moved all my stuff out to this day. I still have them calling me, leaving threatening voicemails. And just rude because they want to charge me for leaving a their lock on the door, I told them what about the money I spent driving 2 1/2 hours to my storage unit to find the facility closed up with a sign saying that they are training new employees and sorry for the inconvenience, and I couldn’t enter my storage unit. Worst experience of my life dealing with this place and their rude customer service, they are literally the frontier airlines of storage facilities
I went online to find a storage close to my needed location. The representative helped me choose an appropriate unit size for my needs. I arrived on site and spoke with James ( Ozzy ) great manager. He was thorough and professional. He supplied us with a map of the yard layout and where our unit was located. He even took the time to come show us the location. He went above and beyond in customer satisfaction.
After confirming 5 days prior to my rental that everything was in order and that my unit would be ready with a lock waiting inside of it when I arrived. I was contacted the day prior to my rental and told that everything was not in order and I wouldn’t be able to use my unit. They told me to upload documents to my account, I tried everything and found no way to upload documents. When I asked the gentleman on the phone for assistance he said that a new system was recently released and he was unable to help. I ended up calling a different storage companies customer service hotline and spoke with agent who was able to set up everything for me. To the corporate team at extra space storage: Your team failed to test the new system before going live. Your team also failed at providing adequate training to the staff of this facility. As a process engineer these are key indicators of a poorly executed project. I witnessed numerous failed processes in my short experience and I’m sure there are plenty more. I won’t be back.
Edit: "time to time" is every few months and its not a small increase either. I understand things increase but the rate this company does is ridiculous and then they wont even work with you to lower the price. Price started at $65 a year ago now it's almost triple. They hike the price every few months and "nothing they can do to help". Horrible service
