Facility Overview & What to Expect
Verified Customer Reviews
Update: Storage Of America is withholding any money they owe for the damage until an NDA is signed. Truly horrible. An email was sent last week: “a sprinkler line serving units 661 through 705 has ruptured. We strongly encourage all tenants with units in this range to visit the property and inspect their stored belongings for any potential water damage.” Nearly everything in my unit was been damaged. As of Wednesday, allegedly, another tenant told me that the sprinkler was still leaking water into the unit. Response to Storage of America: Yes! There are things you can help with; hiring a flood remediation crew and getting the leak fixed would help tremendously!
I like the storage area, it’s clean and secured. What I didn’t like much with it is the price increase every year. I paid $81 on my first year and on my 3rd year, I am paying $100 every month. And I understand the price because it’s a business. Signing in and signing out was smooth, staff are very responsive and professional. I didn’t have much problem with the transitions. Thank you for the service!
This facility has declined since being bought and with new ownership and management. Everything is remote now. Former courteous dolly carts included with rental fee are no longer easily accessible or even available. Moving is stressful enough and this scenario makes things less convenient ... Especially for the disabled. The restrooms have signs saying ALL RESTROOMS ARE OUT OF ORDER. This winter there was a pipe burst and many clients had damage and mold. That was great delay or even no response from the manager. Eventually claimed that it was an act of God and trying to rob people of their mandatory insurance benefits. There have also been individuals seen trying to live in there and do drugs. One of our traveling missionaries had a unit for almost 5 years and they continually raised the rent but the quality of the facility and advertised benefits not provided became unbearable to continue. With no onsite manager or property maintenance person, this facility rates awful for customer service and problem solving. In the winter the keypad was continually freezing and preventing customers access to the large drive in gate and I door loading port. Knowing Midwest winters there should have prepared and attended to this without many patrons having to call in. Again, for a disabled person, if they had to alternatively use the main entrance door instead, they would be in and out of the elements frequently and a detriment to their health and or further inconvenience of disability. A recent missionary with the patron called in advance as well as 3 days prior sent an email stating that with their disability wanted to assure that they would have access to a dolly cart. There was none to be found and so when this person called customer service they assured her that far across the large parking lot in the former on site management building, that with their personal code could get in, and Dolly carts would be accessible for use. There were none and there was not a keypad. We highly do not recommend storage of America and Moline Illinois and this company is atrocious to work with.
The whole experience of renting a storage area from Storage of America has been a positive one. In the beginning, I needed help getting into the building and the ‘help’ person who helped me on the phone was very courteous and helpful. I found my storage unit to be very clean and the building is secure and has good lighting. Thanks.
Glass and hornets around the facility, my unit and the ceiling were leaked into causing mold without contact from the facility or maintenance from them to fix the leaks, heavy machinery left completely unattended turned on in the facility. We paid for a lock cutter which will take 24-48 hours, yet cost $15 from the facility.
