Facility Overview & What to Expect
Verified Customer Reviews
Charles was super amazing. Very knowledgable about anything I needed and his communication is very thorough. Great experience
This was honestly the worst experience I've had in a while. I did my reservation online and wanted to check in a few days early to ensure everything was good to go- I'm glad I went early. The automated machine inside the building would not work. It kept directing me to call customer service because it would let me click verify on my information. I talked to a friendly lady on the phone who set my account up for me. I was emailed a lease in which I signed and was sent a text with my gate code and unit number. Nobody mentioned that my gate code would not immediately work, so I called back and was given a temporary code. Two days later I returned to find out my gate code that was on my signed lease was still not an active code. At this point I had a moving truck scheduled to me at the unit the following day. I called customer service again and was again given a temporary code. I made the decision to call back that same night and terminate my lease because I had been denied reasonable and easy access to my unit on multiple occasions. I had not even moved any of my items into my unit. I just felt I did not have the access that I was promised I would have. Upon terminating my lease I was told I'd get a email confirmation from a supervisors, I had to call back again to remind them that they were supposed to email me it. Moving is stressful enough as it is and Red Dot Storage made it worse. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because i did finally receive a refund.
Red Dot storage is full of crooks and is a big scam. The insurance policy doesn’t insure anything. My wife and I had a storage unit for 7+ years with Red Dot storage and when we finally decided to clean it out and cancel our service, we arrive to realize our unit had water damage as it had black mold grow all inside of our king sized mattress and box spring we had stored in it. Along with a kitchen table, dresser, night stand, full futon mattress, and the chairs for the tables. The water was determined to come from flood water or overflow. Now, I’m thinking this isn’t fair. We paid for service and trusted Red Dot storage to protect our merchandise and goods we stored in our unit. If you go to Red Dot Storage’s website it even states “Paved Driveways No dirt, no gravel, and no mud means your things stay dry and clean”. However in our experience this wasn’t the case. Even with the promises we got when originally setting up the unit, we also added “Level 2” insurance policy which protects against “Water Damage”. We filed a claim with the Great American Insurance Group which came back and stated “it appears as if surface water has entered your unit from under the door and walls.” But what we were NEVER informed on is our “Level 2” insurance we have paid for 7+ years didn’t cover that kind of water damage. As they stated, “All ground water, surface water, flood water, overflow from a drain/sump, or water that seeps under walls, doors, foundations, or paved surfaces are all part of the exclusions for coverage.” Which essentially means all of our stuff we trusted Red Dot Storage to protect all of these years has now all been thrown in the garbage due to black mold that grew on all of our belongings. This is very very poor customer service and in the future I hope people see this and know that in the chance your unit has water damage it more than likely isn’t covered.
Had our unit for a couple years now. Was broken into this weekend. Lock cut. But I had a basic easy to cut lock. The thieves cut the chain link fence to get in. The manager was helpful in filing insurance and gave me a replacement lock that's much harder to get to.
I love what the new management company has done to the property. It is always clean and the new fencing looks wonderful along with the newly paved isles. Plus their rates on the units are very reasonable.
