I had an very disappointing experience with Whites Storage that I feel is important to share. I strongly urge anyone considering their services to proceed with EXTREME CAUTION. When I first spoke to the agent at White's—who also represents Blue Hill Storage—she assured me that I would receive a prorated refund if I rented a unit for less than a full month. However, after moving out just two weeks later, I was shocked to learn that she had "checked with the owner" and that prorated refunds were not, in fact, offered. This conflicting information led to me being charged $404.68 for just 14 days of storage rental! In my search for a storage solution, I contacted six different companies in the area, including SDI Storage at 71 Duck Cove Rd, Orland, ME 04472, and All Purpose Storage at 77 Belmont Ave, Belfast. Many of them offered flexible partial-month rental options. A friend even offered to store my items on their property for free, but I did not want to inconvenience them since a partial month's rental would be reasonable enough and I wanted to support a local business. I now regret my decision! I hope my experience serves as a warning to others when selecting a storage company. Unless this issue is resolved, I plan to share my story widely, highlighting the inconsistency in their pricing communication, in the hope that others can avoid a similar frustrating experience. UPDATE: After multiple unsuccessful attempts over a four week period to get White's Storage to honor their prorated terms, I filed a dispute with my credit card company. They promptly credited my account for the disputed amount. Three months later, the refund is now final. This dispute should not have been necessary, and White's Storage should have upheld their commitment.
I paid on line and the company assured me I could get into my unit at any time. They sent me a pass code for the gate. I loaded my car today drove 10 miles to the unit and could not get in because my pass code did not work. I believe someone forgot to put the pass code in the computer. Very disappointed and feel the customer service really isn't that great. When I called for help I had to leave a message. It looks like I won't be able to use the unit for more than a week since I cant use it during the week due to work. So I paid rent for this week but can't use it. I choose this company because friends reported they had great customer service.

The 24 hour OneLock support for the electronic lock provided by Whites was exceptionally helpful when I (an old man) had questions and was able to quickly resolve a technical glitch.
