Getting the unit and the unit itself was smooth and great! Vacating the unit was.... Interesting. Couldn't get ahold of anyone at the office for 5 full business days. Emails directly to the Okemos office received no response. We ended up going in to the office to give them notice that we were vacating/ending our contract. The rep let me know they had received my email, just forgot correspondence... Frustrating, but I get it. Then today (3 weeks later) I get a voicemail about us "not removing our belongings from the unit" after giving them notice.... AKA, an entirely new tenant has moved in and they don't have any documentation to look at before making an accusatory phone call and threatening additional charges. Yikes.

I came here urgently looking for a unit after my apartment flooded. Ashley was extremely helpful and helped me get a unit immediately and was extremely kind. She was very empathetic for my situation and even offered me a free lock which was greatly appreciated. It was really refreshing dealing with someone so friendly while dealing with this crummy situation. Great for students looking to store stuff for the summer!!

Its seems there is always an extra charge not mentioned in the quote written quote. Transferring from larger to smaller unit was suppose to be free month then $68.00. No mention of $30.00 admin fee or that the $18.00 forced insurance was not part of the Free month. It was not mentioned until after the move. So free month ended up being a $53.00 charge and almost was charged an extra day but I caught the error. I just like to know the full amount without surprises.

I had a very good experience with Devon Self Storage in Okemos. The staff was professional, helpful, and easy to work with from start to finish. The facility is clean, well maintained, and feels secure. The rental process was simple and everything was explained clearly. I definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for storage in the area.
