Kelly was an absolute gem and provided the exact type of customer experience that we needed today. She made my mom (who was a little nervous) feel right at home, which I really appreciated. I rented a 10x10 unit this morning and it was very clean, affordable, and convenient to unload our things there.
10/10 will be using Prestige Storage again for any future moves or storage needs!
Do not use this facility, they do not care about your stuff or you. We had been customers since 2016, and never had any problems when it was managed by Stronghold Storage. Our problems started when Prestige took over last year. They planned to replace the doors on all units, but did not tell us we had to be present to protect our stuff. Mind you, we used this for long-term storage of my late in-laws’ possessions, including furniture, collectibles, and other valuables. We did not go there every week. There were problems with the doors after the first replacement, and it apparently had to be done again. Our unit, with all our stuff inside, was trashed. Everything was covered with filth (metal shavings, concrete dust, etc) from the drilling and whatever other work was done. Nobody bothered to cover our possessions, and some cardboard boxes that had been stacked on a dresser were dropped onto the ground—the boxes were dented and wet (see picture), and it was clear that at least some boxes had been opened and rifled through, because boxes were left open and items (including framed pictures) were left out to collect dust & dirt (see picture). They left metal bars and wires from the old doors hanging down in the unit, and didn’t bother to sweep out or clean up any of the dirt. In fact, we found cigarette butts on the floor of the unit, and we don’t smoke. There was evidence of water pooling on the floor (there was about a 1” space between the new door and the ground), and clear water damage to several items, not just the boxes they moved to the floor: we had two solid wood table tops (legs removed for storage) that are now covered with mold and ruined. Wooden chair legs with mildew on the bottom. When we complained, the staff at Prestige directed us to submit a claim, which they forwarded to the company who did the door repairs, and that company said it wasn’t their fault—anything more than a few feet inside the door was Prestige’s responsibility. However, Prestige didn’t do a darn thing to compensate us for any damage…heck, they didn’t even sweep out the dirt after we pointed it out to them! After Prestige took over, in addition to raising the rate several times, they required us to pay them $11 a month for insurance, but it didn’t do us any good! Logan (Prestige office) never responded to our claim once the door company refused to pay, forwarded us the contact info for the insurance company and washed his hands of the matter. I can confirm what another reviewer said about the gate being unlocked for weeks at a time—no security, which is a joke considering their logo is an open lock!
So, after they trashed our stuff, did nothing to make it right, and ignored our complaints, I cannot recommend this place to even my worst enemy. I would give 0 stars if I could. Stay away.
We pay every month, but in their computer system, it doesn’t register that we pay the full amount. They double locked our units without warning, so be worn if you have multiple units up here.
