Mostly an ok experience. The people are decently nice. Two not great things that earned the three-star review. 1) You can't text with the workers here like you can at some ESS places. It's more inconvenient to store items here for that reason. 2) They left the gates wide open and the building doors unlocked for a significant amount of time a few months back and someone messed with the lock on my unit during that time. I don't think anyone got into my unit, but they definitely had a great opportunity to - an opportunity they shouldn't have had. I didn't get any communication about any problems or time frame for a solution. I just happened to go to my unit twice in one week and found it like that. Reply to their response: Why does any place that gets a not-great review think it somehow helps their business to give an insincere apology and a phone number that'll likely lead to some huge run-around and a bunch of useless hassle if someone calls it? What could they even do if I called that number and talked to someone in authority in the company? Can they go back in time and properly lock up their facility? LOL!! Good thing we're all stupid enough to think this reply means anything. I should take off another star for the blatant manipulation in that response, but I think it does enough damage all on its own.

This is our second time with extra space storage and it was an outstanding experience at this location in Frisco. Cody and his staff were both very friendly and easy to work with. Also, we were very happy with the assigned unit from location and cleaness perspective. We shopped many other options but extra space storage has always been the winner. Thank you!

Very disappointing experience with Extra Space Storage. I signed up with a monthly rate of around $55, and the company never clearly explained that the rate could increase so quickly. I had autopay enabled, and after only 2 months my monthly payment was nearly doubled without a clear warning. When I noticed the change, I tried to resolve it in a professional way. I visited in person and called multiple times, and each time I was told someone would call me back or offer a solution — no one followed through. Extra Space Storage claims they notify customers by “mail,” which is not reliable at all, especially for people who travel or move. I explained I no longer had access to my old mailing address and asked for email or phone communication, but they did not help. This feels like a deceptive pricing strategy that depends on customers not noticing, and since moving storage units is difficult, they rely on people staying and paying the higher rate. I am attaching screenshots showing the monthly charges and the sudden rate increase. I do not recommend Extra Space Storage.

Mr. Mike Grubbs is a Store Manager who is understanding, empathetic in interactions and ensures customers feel valued. Although I have a limited timeline and drop-off location spot for a PODS container, he managed the necessary accommodations without any delay. He is really good at focusing on what I need and require. Mr. Grubbs has a real instinct to understand and provide solutions to his customers' needs. Excellent customer service, and keep it up!

This location at Custer bridges is the best. Stores my stuff here and moved out of state, took me along year to come back for my stuff and everything was in perfect condition. The location is clean and smells good..
