Facility Overview & What to Expect
Verified Customer Reviews
Moving in was super easy and convenient! Wonderful location inside and got a great online deal! Asst. Manager John was super helpful and friendly, which also made the move-in completely stress free! Love the digital access with the app!
I excellent customer service from Devon. From start to finish, plenty of carts which was vital since it was raining buckets.. will definitely recommend.
To be honest, I'm beside myself with our experience so far. We rented the unit and began moving in. When we left to go and get a 2nd load, the manager Devon called me and said that he went into our unit and saw a jar of peanut butter and a loaf of bread, and because of those he just does not want to rent to is anymore. He stated that food isn't allowed to be stored in the unit and that was a lease violation. Therefore we had 24-48 hours to move out...when we hadn't even finished moving in!! I told him that we weren't going to leave the food in there, and that it was just for us to eat while working and we intended to take it with us at the end of the day. He then stated that's because of the peanut butter and loaf of bread he just doesn't know what else we will be storing there, and therefore does not want to rent to us anymore. My wife then got on the phone and asked to speak to somebody above him or ask for their contact info because that just didn't make any sense the reason was ridiculous. It would be understandable if he had just given us a call to say "hey y'all can't keep food in there you guys, just make sure ya'll take it out".....but to evict us...seems crazy!! So anyways he refused to give us his superiors contact information. This is just not how things should go at all so no I do not recommend this place at all if I could leave zero Stars I would but I had to leave one. In addition to that we wasted money because I'm not sure that they're going to refund anything for us and to do our current situation that's just so wrong and we simply cannot afford it. I'm still as I type this trying to figure out where to move or things. He did give us a few more days to figure it out but still we are very unsatisfied and very baffled and of course upset with the treatment we've received!
Recently received notification that rent was going up on one of my units. Understand inflation, market, etc… However, when you advertise 1st Month Rent Free for new move-ins, this means you have units to rent; but by the same token you’re raising rent on your current customers units? This doesn’t give your current customers incentive to stay - they can just move to another facility that is offering the same amount they are now paying and get their 1st Month Free from them, plus they offer a moving vehicle in order to do this. Extra Space Storage kind of reminds me of the parable of the dog on the bridge that sees his reflection in the river of a dog with a bone (new customer) and opens his mouth to take it and looses his bone (current customer). On a more positive note the individuals at Encino Commons do a great job, especially having to deal with Extra Space Storage policies.
they keep jacking up the rate at ridiculous jumps! Be wary Edit: Hi all, as you see with their reply, I did call them. Their business model is to get you in a low rate and they will jack it up almost double what you were paying. On the call they will haggle with you. Do not fall for the initial get you in price.
