Very disappointed with the service at this facility. While the location and storage unit size are fine, the way the contract and price increase were handled is extremely frustrating. I understand that prices increase over time, but our unit rate doubled once our six-month contract ended—from $60 per month to $120 per month. What makes this more concerning is that when I asked what the same size units are currently renting for, I was told new customers are paying around $84, or even $40-something with an online promotional rate. This feels like an aggressive and unfair price increase for existing customers. When we first signed the contract, we were told there would be an increase, but nothing close to this. Six months later, the rate doubling does not feel reasonable or ethical. It was also explained to us that we are now in a month-to-month contract and our monthly storage rate can potentially continue to increase each month moving forward. They offered to come down $20 which means our storage would be $100 plus an $11 entrance fee…still making this a $50 increase. I requested to speak with someone in person about this and asked if there was a supervisor or corporate office I could contact, only to be told that they do not offer that option. We will be giving our notice and would not recommend this storage facility. While the location is convenient, knowing your rate may double after six months, and each month after that is not a good experience.

Be aware the total cost rises significantly depending on unit size, which floor, insurance and lock. Also the online 50% off, will only be effective for 1-3 months. They can raise the rates with 30 day notice and rates get increased frequently. If you want to get first month free, you need to pay full price. The place was clean and the onsite person was very friendly and helpful. No military discount.

Such a great and easy experience! Albert was very friendly and knowledgeable. He greeted us right away, we told him what we needed, and he showed us the perfect unit. He made sure to ask questions about how much stuff we have to make sure the unit would accommodate us. Very quick and pleasurable experience!

I initially had a very positive experience signing up at Extra Space Storage – 14657 Potranco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78253. Alberto was professional, kind, and helpful during the leasing process, which made everything feel smooth and straightforward. I signed my lease at the end of August at $49/month with a one-month-free promotion and have always paid ahead and on time. Despite this, my monthly rate recently increased to $98. What is most concerning is that it was never disclosed—verbally or in the lease—that prepaying was required to maintain the original $49 rate. The lease only contains general language stating that promotional rates may change to the “then-current regular rate,” without clearly explaining that paying month-to-month—even when paid early—could result in such a sharp increase. Because this condition was never disclosed, I was not able to make an informed decision. Texas law prohibits deceptive or misleading acts or practices in commerce, including failing to disclose material information that would affect a consumer’s decision. Under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, a seller cannot omit critical facts that would mislead a consumer about pricing or terms. I am respectfully requesting a resolution to lock in the original $49 rate if I prepay for a set number of future months, as that option was never presented at the time of signing.
