Facility Overview & What to Expect

Bait-and-Switch Pricing & Sky-High Rent Hike - Read This Before Renting I want to warn potential customers about the severe pricing practices at this facility. My experience has been a textbook case of bait-and-switch, followed by an exploitative renewal offer. 1. The Deceptive "First Month" Rate: I rented a 10x15 unit advertised at $152. The true cost to move in was $200, due to mandatory add-ons: · $11 for forced insurance (if you don't have your own). · A $20 lock (a $5 retail item sold at a 300% markup). · A $29 "admin fee." None of these substantial fees were reflected in the advertised price, making the true move-in cost 30% higher than advertised. 2. The Exploitative Renewal: After the first month, my rate was raised from the effective $140 base rent to $250 per month—a 79% increase. This is for the exact same unit that is still being advertised on their website for new customers at $152. I am now paying $100 more per month than a new customer would for the identical service. When questioned, management cited "market rates" but could not justify why a loyal tenant pays far more than a new one. The unit itself is standard and secure, but the business model is designed to trap you. Once you've gone through the hassle of moving in, they know you're unlikely to move out easily, allowing them to impose massive rent hikes. ADVICE FOR FUTURE CUSTOMERS: · Ask for the "Out-the-Door" First Month Total including ALL fees before you even tour. · Get your own lock and provide proof of your own insurance to avoid their overpriced options. · Before signing, ask the manager to write down the renewal rate after your promo period. If they refuse or are vague, see it as a major red flag. · Be prepared to negotiate or move when your promo period ends. They count on your inertia. I am currently looking at competitors and will be moving out. This company does not value loyal tenants. Proceed with extreme caution and read the lease minutiae.
Camy was amazing so helpful and very sweet! Helped us immediately with an approachable style of communication and body language. She's definitely the best! Great way to start our mourning. Very good atmosphere.
Chris T. is an amazing associate. He was attentive and answered all my questions. Truly a scholar at his job, a gentleman, and asset to his profession.
Chris was super helpful and thorough in assisting insuring my unit was properly taken care of and correct at the mainland location in San Antonio. Thank you!
Came in for some information and Chris was very helpful and informative. Rates are competitive with other places and I've reserved a larger space for less than what I'm currently paying. Thanks!
