The management at this facility is, unfortunately, extremely unprofessional. In recent events, the woman who oversees the property approached me and my clients without provocation and created a public scene, loudly insisting I “wasn’t welcome” there. This was particularly shocking, as I only spoke to her once prior to ask if she’d seen my dogs, which were always at the unit with me, they had been spooked and took off. Don’t worry they were found and safe with me 😊 I’ve been at this unit now for over three months and I am on the property almost daily for my resale business sometimes spending long hours in the dark working on inventory. My boyfriend was with me at the time, and she approached him first, telling him he wasn’t allowed on the premises and needed to leave immediately. It’s worth noting that she was only present to refuel the generator — the temporary generator powering my row of units because the electricity has been out since the day I rented it. We were initially told it would be one month without power; it has now been far longer, with multiple occasions where the generator ran out of gas for hours. Causing me to work long hours in the dark. Yet renters in my row are still charged the same full rate as units with working electricity and security. Despite the unit being fully paid and containing several thousand dollars’ worth of inventory, she continued yelling, demanding we leave, and even threatened to call the police. My business partner handled the original paperwork in the office and did all prior communication with this lady and still yet no explanation was offered for her behavior. My clients were so uncomfortable they refused to even step out of their car. We relocated to the front of the property just to safely finish the sale. As a business owner of 14 years, I have never witnessed such unnecessary hostility toward paying tenants. Being told I cannot access my own property — the very items we are paying to store — is unacceptable. I strongly advise potential renters to exercise caution. Until management is able to demonstrate consistent professionalism, clear communication, and compliance with their obligations to provide safe, reasonable access to paid units, this facility does not meet the standard expected of a reputable business.

1 out of 5 stars – Unprofessional, Disrespectful, and Arbitrary Termination of Service Our experience with Forward Storage on Marbach Road was beyond disappointing—it was a frustrating lesson in how not to treat paying customers. After securing a unit and being there no more than a few scattered hours across a week to organize our belongings, we were blindsided by a contract termination. The reason? An unfounded and frankly absurd accusation that we were “living” in the unit. Let me be clear: we had hotel receipts from Best Western to prove otherwise. Additionally, nothing in our storage unit remotely resembled a living space—just a lot of boxes and effort to get organized during limited free time. The property manager was perhaps the most unprofessional part of the entire experience. She is arrogant, dismissive, and selectively responsive, ignoring calls, emails, and messages unless it suits her. Worse, she seems to pick and choose who the “rules” apply to, enforcing them with bias while others go unchecked. She zips around on an ATV like she’s patrolling a military base rather than managing a public-facing business. We’ve had storage at Lockaway Storage on Weidner for three years—three units, without a single issue. The only reason we moved was due to cost, and now we regret it. At least there, professionalism and fairness were standard. The only reason this review gets even one star is thanks to the helpful individuals at another Forward Storage location who at least tried to listen and offer some support. We’ll gladly take our business (and money) to someone who respects customers—like RecStorage, who we should’ve chosen in the first place. If ownership at Forward Storage cares about their reputation, they should start listening to the growing number of negative reviews—or prepare to keep losing business.
