This business is managed and operated by a few ladies which helped make my storage needs very helpful. They were very professional and courteous. I recommend anyone who needs to use a storage facility, to use this one! The facility is spotless and organized with high-tech security gates and cameras. Smart Stop Self Storage is A#1!!!
I rented at Amazing Spaces Shenandoah for 9 months (October 2021-July 2022). When I began utilizing the storage unit there was allegedly not a problem with rodents. On July 12, 2022 I hired professional movers to move my belongings. When we opened the storage unit And began moving items we noticed there were rat droppings everywhere in my storage unit. Some of my belongings were damaged as a result of rodents. An item was damaged to the point that Patricia the on-site representative on July 12th asked me to leave it behind so that she could use it to address the problem with the Amazing Spaces exterminator! The Amazing Spaces representative, Patricia, who was on-site shared that 2 months ago, prior to me moving out (approximately May of 2022) a field behind the Amazing Spaces facility had been cleared. Patricia shared that Management had concerns about rodents and only placed traps outside the storage facility and had not checked inside the storage facility. I showed Patricia all the droppings and damage to some of my belongings and she stated that she was curious about potential infestation to client units but what I showed her was the proof she needed. I explained to Patricia that I had concerns about further damage to my belongings that I could not see and the cost that I would incur at having to now hire exterminators for my newly built home that has no pests. I explained to Patricia that I deserved to be compensated. I have paid Amazing Spaces $425.00 every month to now have rodent infestations. Patricia did nothing. She told me to leave all of the droppings that I had swept up and the severally damaged item that I had to show her. I gave her the key to the unit and she left. she stated again that she was going to call the exterminator. THEN when attempting to leave the storage facility after finally loading all of my items into the moving truck, I discovered that Patricia deactivated my account which meant that the gate code no longer worked and we were locked inside the facility. I called the emergency management number posted on the door only to find that the representatives could not help me. I was told that the professional moving team and I would have to wait for a call back and that she could not let me out of the gate. I waited for 20mins and called back. Finally I received a call from a nonchalant representative who rudely asked ‘well what Is going on, I’m trying to understand why you’re locked inside the gate’.’ I explained that my move out and walk through had been completed and he shared that when my account was paid in full and deactivated that it invalided my gate code. He also stated that I needed to speak to the property manager about my experience and concerns about rodent infestations. Isn’t that facility management 101? Why would you deactivate my account? Who is going to compensate me for the damage to my belongings and the cost that I will incur to ensure that I do not have a rodent problem in my new home? I noticed that the Shenandoah Amazing Spaces facility received an award for cleanliness and service in 2022. It was not deserved and I plan on posting my experience and PICTURES everywhere.
I needed to find a storage unit but wasn’t sure what size. I asked the sales person what she thought. After explaining everything I needed to store and when I needed a unit Lori helped me out tremendously. She answered all of my questions and showed me different size storage units. After deciding which size I needed she helped me pick a date to move in. I’m now in a great safe, secure and climate controlled storage unit in my area of town. And the price was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks again Lori.
