This is my first time having a storage unit. Their price was the best I could find on short notice. Move-in was easy and staff was very helpful. But after the second month (60 days mind you) the rent was increased from $80 to $120. I have family in Metro DC! paying $90 for a unit twice the size of mine. I was hoping I'd have time to donate/giveaway things I don't need but the extra $40 means I need to get out of that unit with the quickness. When I googled Extra Space just now I found mention of a class action suit for bait and switch pricing. I don't know if this is legit, but I'm definitely not feeling good about this. If anybody needs an Ikea bookcase, full or queen mattress each with its own heavy duty bedframe, let me know.

CeeI have received my 2nd increase this year with this time it going up $100! I did call to try and rectify this, I was told the manager would give me a call back but I have not heard back from her. I was also informed that the my new rate was actually higher than the "market" rate of my unit. I get it, its hard to avoid an increase but $100 for renters that pay on time every month and have had business with them for over 2 years? A $100 increase is not in my budget
Matt CrinnianExtra Space was the cheapest in Richmond, but they also had the best experience of any storage unit I’ve had before. Was very easy to rent. The office staff are super nice and helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to rent from them again in the future.
