I access my unit infrequently and was surprised to discover how much the customer service and facility quality has fallen off. When I arrived there were zero employees present. This would have been useful to help with some of the problems. My first problem is that none of the elevators in the facility worked. (See videos). This makes it hard to access a storage unit on the upper floors. It didn’t matter if you pushed the button, held the button looked awkwardly at the button the elevators disnt work from the first floor. Thankfully during my first trip someone came down from upstairs. The second trip I had to take the stairs up. My second issue is that they have one cart for the entire facility. For a company that’s sent three monthly rate increases in 18 month that’s unacceptable. It certainly makes it difficult to unload items when your unit is on an upper floor and in the middle and have to haul it out by hand despite paying an exorbitant monthly cost. I really don’t think it’s an outrageous ask to have working elevators and carts at a storage facility. Carts aren’t a huge capital outlay. I don’t know how you can function as a business in this context without functional elevators. I’m sure I’ll get a BS generic message from their corporate AI bot in response to this review but if you’re looking to store items, Self Storage Plus Liberty Harvest isn’t it. It’s a festering craphole of disrepair and disregard. They are exceptionally good at getting their payment monthly. Not that you’ll get anything in return on that investment. Avoid at all costs. EDIT: In response to the customer service AI bot, I emailed your customer service email address last week. You guys haven't seen fit to respond.

I’ve been renting a unit at this storage facility for several years now, and what started as a convenient option has turned into an absolute nightmare. For months on end, the elevators have been out of service, forcing me to haul my belongings up and down stairs, which is not only exhausting but downright unsafe, especially with heavy items. The rear entry door has also been broken for what feels like forever adding unnecessary hassle and time to every visit. To make matters worse, there are never any carts available. I’ve shown up at various times, and the cart return area are always empty, leaving me to improvise or make multiple trips. And don’t even get me started on the staffing—or lack thereof. Despite visiting during posted business hours, the front desk is consistently unmanned. No one to answer questions, handle issues, or provide basic assistance. It’s like the place is run by ghosts. At this point, I strongly advise anyone considering this facility to look elsewhere. There are plenty of better-managed options out there that actually maintain their property and value their customers. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere reliable. Edit: 4 months later and elevators are still out of order and have been deemed a hazard by Loudoun County. I would move elsewhere if I had a working elevator to use…

Stay away from this place. I've been with this place for years and it does nothing but degrade. They only do 6 month rate locks and them jump your rent 30% after 6 months and you need to continually fight with them. No one is ever in the office or answering the phone. The owner should be completely ashamed of this establishment and I'd love an opportunity to talk with them directly myself. Pitiful degradation of something that used to be affordable and of quality.

I purchased a storage unit which was priced fairly BUT upon move in I arrived to learn the elevator wasn’t operational. I still have yet to move my items in and I’m paying for a unit I do not currently occupy. It has now been two days with no repairs and no updates have been sent for this location. Unacceptable and highly frustrating as I have made moving plans which now must be rescheduled.

I rented remotely and when the office was closed, which is most days, and was told unit would be zip tied and a lock would be inside. Neither was true and had to walk around to find a unit to open and take their lock. The entrances to storage aren’t all behind the gate either. When coming back for a second drop off, a strange man pulled up and asked if we needed a ride. I don’t feel safe going into this unit by myself either. I called during a time when they were supposedly open to voice my concerns about all of this. No one answered the phone and a week later, noon has called me back. I will probably try to find another location.
