I rented a 10x10 “climate controlled” unit for over a year (life circumstances) which was less climate controlled than an average garage; also didn’t have any light. While renting the price was increased by an additional $20 a month. And when I went to empty it this month (April) it looks to have had a roof leak and my items had some water damage. I feel I should get some sort of a refund especially for the month of April. Overall too expensive for the low quality. Gave it two stars since the employees were relatively respectful and friendly. I will add that I contacted the company number provided in their response today (04/14/25) for them to respond that I didn’t pay extra for insurance and that in the contract they aren’t liable for any damages. Interesting. So their claims of: “Our storage facilities are always spic, span and well-maintained. Dust bunnies can’t hide under these bright lights…Enjoy peace of mind while storing what’s precious. We’ll take care of your stuff as if it were our own.” Isn’t true. Like I said, too expensive and not well maintained. And for sure don’t rent out the 10x10 unit 032 on Ski Ln in Madison since it has roof/ceiling damage.

I guess I missed the part that said my unit rent would go up from $78 to $133 for my unit and that the app I use to get into the unit would be down when ever I drive 30mins to get here. & 10 out of 10 do not recommend ExtraSpace as a brand, i figured I’d give it a try here coming from California and it sucks both places

The guys at the desk were always great and super nice! The unit price did go up every few months (but in today’s economy everything does). Always felt safe and well lit which is most important. Always had a cart available.
