She was familiar with my rental background and helpful with what I was now looking for in a storage unit. She introduced me to Michelle, a new member of the staff, showing a very good method to bring inclusiveness to a new employee in building customer relationships. Mid January I reserved a 10 x 10 unit at the Champlin facility understanding that with the 25% discount I would be paying about $58.00 for the first 3 months. It turns out I was required to pay $67.00 instead (after the 25% deal). I paid up front the first 3 months but, in all honesty, cannot recommend this to anyone at this point. I suspected the individual helping me (Danny), a non-management/floater individual was a little confused too. After going back into seeing what was available online, a $77.00 10 X 10 space was in fact available. This looks like a process formally referred to as a "bait and switch" operation. It would be nice to talk to a manager about why this is happening. I am a repeat customer and currently rent 2 other 5 x 5 spaces. Very disappointed in Acorn at this point. The whole point of making the reservation was to lock in the advertised price.Full Review

Initial cost varied greatly from final cost. Watch out
The initial price seemed like a good value, but the additional charge for the lock and the additional charge for the monthly insurance put you in a different category. I felt like I was getting a bait and switch. It felt a little bit like bait and switch. While the facility was nice and clean a price was a surprise once we got past the initial offer. I strongly urge anyone who is considering public storage to ask detailed questions about any costs that are associated with the storage before signing any documentsFull Review

I have a large unit and have had it for over 1 year. My rates have gone up on a steady basis that it's almost ridiculous. The problem is that it;s a lot of work to move items out to a new facility - but my goal now after my 3rd - 4th increase is to get out of there and wanted to let others know to be aware. It's a rip off and false advertising. They have ulterior motives to their deals and increase the rates frequently to get more money out of you.
Other than this, the location is in a convenient location and generally clean. Many times on the weekends its hard to get inside to load or unload items because of the limited parking / space - only two stalls.Full Review

I requested a ground floor, inside unit but there were none available when I checked in. However, Dorothy was really nice about finding an upstairs unit that was at least close to the elevator. I am a little concerned that there wasn't an actual ceiling for the 2nd floor units, just a metal/write grate... Seems less secure in terms of theft as well as rodents/pests. I was also told that there's been an issue with people stealing locks? I'm not sure if that was just locks lying around or what, but just being told that there are any theft issues in a place where you will keep your belongings is not very reassuring. I am very happy with the price I got and the location relative to my place of residence though. I have never rented a storage locker before and don't have much ground for any material complaints currently, just some reservations about my belongings being in a place where I don't always know they are safe.Full Review

I spent several hours looking for close, secure, affordable storage. I am really glad I checked out Public Storage, on line and then in person. Access hours are great! My attendant, Melody, was totally nice and helpful. Facility is clean, climate controlled and well lighted. I am on the third floor, there are two elevators and baggage carts. I need carts to move all my boxes. On my first load Friday evening, there were no carts available so I had to carry everything by hand.
All the halls were very dirty. The 3rd floor had a pile of debris just outside the elevator and a cut-off lock laying on the floor.
The facility holds a driver's license while using a cart. When I returned the cart I found that they carelessly gave my license to someone else! It took several hours to get it back. Now there is someone out there with my name, address, birthday and driver's license number.Full Review

The place is super clean and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I rented my space starting at the beginning of the pandemic, and they were doing the proper distancing and protocols to keep staff and customers safe. Letha is super kind and goes beyond the expected to help make the process easy and clear. And their pricing is really great, especially if you catch them on a sale/discount. For the temperature controlled storage there is a car port and also parking spots, and you can pull up in the car port and bring your stuff right inside the front door from there.
