From the phone call to the meeting Kelsey in the office to get codes has been perfect! I was unaware that I needed to put a lock on the unit immediately. I received a phone call the next day stating they had put their lock on so no one would move in to my unit. I appreciated the fact that they actually performed lock checks. We started using Devon Self Storage a few months ago to store our travel trailer. They were extremely nice and helpful and we enjoyed using their facility. However, when it came time to stop using their facility, it was a completely different story.
We notified Devon via phone and via email on August 15th that we were cancelling our contract with them. They were very pleasant and nice and said they would cancel our contract effective August 31st. However, since that time, I received a notice that I was late paying the fee for September (a month I was not supposed to pay anything for) and then Devon withdrew funds from my bank account for September. I contacted Devon after both issues and they continued to be nice and agreed that the contract had been cancelled but they still withdrew money for September despite their assurances. Unfortunately, I have filed a dispute with my bank in order to get back the funds that Devon incorrectly withdrew.
I just read another review on another site where they did a similar thing to someone else. It's looking like there may be a pattern here.Full Review

We have been renting a space to park our camper since November last year, right when Clearhome Storage bought the facility.
A couple of months after, I reached out to them about having crushed rock or something put down on the open area where the outdoor storage is being rented for campers, boats, vehicles, etc., and a really nice guy named Jacob, who was overseeing the facility from Denver, CO. began looking into quotes from local contractors to to that.
But, after a couple of more months of not getting a price they were happy with, I supplied him with the name and number of someone I thought could help, but after a couple of weeks, when I contacted Jacob, he advised that he was being let go, and advised that a lady named Lesley was taking over those duties, and said he passed all my information over to her.
The next week, I contacted her, and she advised that they were having a meeting the next day, and she would follow up with that with the person who was being assigned the property management and maintenance for all of the sites. Since we have not seen or heard anything, I began trying unsuccessfully trying to contact Lesley. I have left multiple VMs for her with no return calls, I have called the posted number and asked for the name of Lesley's supervisor and was told by Flo that she would contact Shay for that information and get back with me, but after week now, I have had no response.
I have asked them about having someone cut the grass in the meantime, as the weeds are now thigh high, but still no response or action.
This type of activity is what normally happens when a company is trying to sell a property, and does not want to put any money into upgrading the facility or even maintaining it.
I will be glad to write an update post if and when something happens, but at this time I would like to submit photos of the current status, but I am unable on this review site.Full Review
Shortly after my first review (above), I received a call from someone at their corporate office,(just a coincidence?), who was aware of my concerns and complaints. She was quite firm in their stance that they had no obligation to answer to me or explain their plans for this site in any detail to me.
I advised her of how frustrated we were at the lack of attention, including up keep of the facility, and how the weeds were overtaking the storage lot, entrance, and around the building, and if we didn't see some action, that I would find some way to post some photos
She asked if I was threatening her, and I explained that I was just a customer who had a right to voice my concern and need for service.
A couple of weeks later, I met a gentleman out there who was looking at the site for an estimate for cutting the grass, as well as another location for them to maintain on a bi-monthly basis. I later spoke with him a week or two later, and he explained he had contracted with them to to that and would begin in July, which he did.
The weeds have been cut, and yesterday I in fact was contacted by another gentlemen, this time who had just been appointed to manage the facility, and he was VERY delightful and professional to speak with. He advised that he would be looking into getting quotes to grade and gravel the lot entirely, and seemed open to any future contact from me.

Most Common Types of RV Storage
Covered storage - While it’s usually the more expensive option, covered RV storage is the safest, most secure way to store your camper or trailer. In most cases, covered storage is simply a parking spot with a roof, however some facilities offer an indoor option which is just an over-sized version of a traditional self-storage unit (with drive-up access of course).
Uncovered storage - This storage option is basically an open parking space on the facility’s property, however because of its simplicity it’s also the least expensive option for RV storage. Some facilities do have paved parking areas specifically for motorhomes, but either way your RV will be outdoors and exposed to the elements – we recommend purchasing a cover if you go with this option.
Tips on How to Store a RV/Trailer at a Storage Facility
- Measure your RV before you rent your unit to make sure you choose the right size
- Give the camper a good cleaning before placing it in storage
- Apply a coat of wax
- Change the motor oil
- Flush out the waste tanks
- Purchase fuel stabilizer
- Inflate the tires
- Unload everything from your motorhome
- Make sure the slide-outs are retracted
- Once in storage, disconnect the battery
- Make sure light can get into the motorhome
- If possible, leave the vents open
